Wednesday Blog update

It's update day for our Nice People Nice Things stitch along with Kelly and Carol.
Today I chose the Dessert block because tomorrow is Thanksgiving!
I am so thankful for so many things this year.  My family is healthy, happy and the grandkids are so wonderful.  I'm grateful for a loving husband who is my best friend and he also cooks, more on that later.  I'm thankful for my job, my hobbies that keep me broke entertained.  For good friends, for my Country and for those that serve it including my son.  For parents who brought us up right to show respect for our elders, to say our prayers and to be thankful for what we have been given.  I am thankful to be a hospice nurse to ease the pain of those who are suffering, I am truly blessed each and every time I care for someone who is near death.  It is a spiritual experience, one that I treasure.  I sure hope that you all have a really nice Thanksgiving and can enjoy the blessings of family and friends this season.
This week I also completed 20 of these swap blocks and I digitized the design that is in the center.  Cute huh?  I think I'm going to really get into this digitizing thing.

And, I finished stitching my Redwork Winter Twitterings blocks.  Now on to making the quilt.  (sorry about the poor lighting)
And ....
Today I was quilting at Lets Quilt and lookie what was hanging on the wall!  It's Bali Hai  Marilyn Badgers multiple award winning quilt.  And there it was...close enough to touch, and drool all over, and covet and even maybe stick in my little basket to take home with me...well maybe not.

Marilyn does such amazing work!  Look at the design detail in the quilting and piecing she has done.

All in all it was a good week with this quilt being the cherry on top. Now I'm expecting family to arrive in a couple of hours and 3 grandkids to spoil.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
