CANDY CANE LANE

It's the last day of the Candy Cane Lane Pillow blog hop and I am 3rd from last.  I can't believe I got them  it done in time, nothing like waiting until the last minute so if you are still with us here are  is my version of Candy Cane Lane.

I have another one half done but time got away from me and well this is the only one that got finished for now.  I found that iron on fleece works really well for the snow and it has the adhesive already on it.  You should have seen my husband and I trying to force the pillow form into it.  I made the flaps in the back overlap too much but by darn we got 'er in there.  If only I hadn't waited so long to get this done I could have made some changes.  Oh well, I still love it!!!

I had high hopes for the embellishments on this adorable pillow but my embroidery machine is in a million pieces at the shop so buttons work great.
Thank you so much Jill for the pattern and Mdm Samm for the fun hop and thanks again Pauline for organizing us.

And...Since it is the end of the month I have to show you my
2012 NewFO projects.
It was a good mail day today, I got this adorable quilt in the mail from Anita.  She is my Doll Quilt Swap partner for November.  She wanted to know what color hair I have and I told her brown with silver sparkles.  She did an amazing job especially on the silver sparkles.  I love it!  Thanks so much Anita.

She even included a calender it is adorable!

Here is the quilt I made for her.  She loves the colors of the sea, I hope this is close.  I used the twisted 4 patch pattern and it was super easy.  I had fun with the free motion quilting too.

Just love the look on the back of it.  Don't look too close it's not perfect but my philosophy is that once the piece is washed it looks just great and hides the flaws.  Hurry and wash it Anita.
For my Block Swap Adventure partner this month I made a pinwheel block out of 30's fabric.  I love this block and how it turned out.

And last but not least I have to show you the bag that my Santa Sack Swap Partner, Marissa made for me.  I just LOVE it!!!  She is so talented and thoughtful.  She has wrapped all of the gifts in fabric so that when they are opened I will have some extra pieces for my stash.
Most of the gifts also have little charms or pins she has made too.  Can't wait for the chance to see what treasures are inside.

What I've been up to lately...Traveling roads of change.  I have a new job, yippee!  It is the same but different.  I've met lots of new people and can even remember some of their names.  I'm even learning how to do computer charting.  It's hard to make changes in life but this one has been a good one.  We didn't close on our house like we expected to in October but with that loss came a new opportunity.  We will be closing on a newer and different home the end of the year.  I snapped this photo on my way home one evening.  It always amazes me the beauty of the earth that God gave us.  Until next time.  Be safe!

  29. So very colorful and creative - just the perfect addition to your home. While changes can be over whelming, they usually work out for the better, don't they? We just moved and I have yet to find my sewing room for the tubs and boxes. Judy C
